NEW YEAR’S EVE PLAYLIST

This year has been one for the books. With the pandemic threatening health worldwide, and social and political unrest in the United States and beyond, we are all looking forward to bidding 2020 au revoir. For many of us, December 31st cannot come fast enough. 

While this year has been both devastating and tumultuous, there are some bright spots we should still consider. After all, those are what will help us get through this continuing and collective trauma.

Streaming services like HBO Max and Netflix have driven some of the most highly rated content of the year, keeping our boredom at bay. If we couldn’t see each other in person, at least we had Nicole Kidman’s coats in The Undoing. 

Music played a big part in our year of entertainment, as well. Though we couldn’t gather to dance, this year gave us some epic bops to cherish. 

As we bid this year a farewell, or good riddance, we need a soundtrack in which to do that. While not an exhaustive list by any means, below are 10 examples of the arguably best pop songs that have kept us grounded in 2020, and will keep us moving right into 2021.
