QUICK FACTS ON THE
FEDERAL AFFORDABLE
CONNECTIVITY PROGRAM (ACP)

by AT&T Staff, 2 min read

We’re living in a time when the internet is not only ubiquitous but also essential to keeping our communities thriving and healthy. From healthcare to education to communication, the internet is now present in our everyday lives.

Fortunately, there are programs in place that help those who can’t afford the cost of home internet. One example is the Affordable Connectivity Program.

Plainly stated, the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a federal government program that  helps eligible households with a benefit that could decrease their internet service bill by up to $30/mo; or up to $75 per month if  residing on qualifying Tribal Lands*.

For those that might want to sign up for ACP, here’s what you need to know:

  • You may qualify if you meet one of the following:
    • Your household income is at or below 200% of federal poverty guidelines.
    • You or someone in your household participates in a qualifying federal assistance program
  • You can determine eligibility and apply with the federal government at affordableconnectivity.gov
  • After you’ve been approved by the national verifier, simply call AT&T at 866.986.0963 to sign up for home internet service.  Be sure to have your ACP application ID handy.
  • Lifeline eligible households automatically qualify for ACP and do not need to re-apply.
